The calculation of parallel key connections is based on DIN 6892. Both calculation methods B and C are completely realised. The allowed pressures will be calculated on the base of the material properties. So, it is possible to use special materials. Furthermore, in the case of a combination of interference fit and parallel key connection, an additional frictional torque can be taken into consideration.
The load distribution factor will be calculated for different load in and output on the base of geometrical input values. In addition, the number of load peaks and the kind of an existing alternating torque can be defined for the calculation.
For a comfortable working, a databased material selection and a databased geometry selection for parallel keys according to DIN 6885 page 1 to 3 are available. Parallel key shape and size are selectable in a comfortable way. Additionally, the according standard lengths for the parallel key shapes are integrated.
Of course, there is the possibility to calculate non-standard parallel keys. So differing from the standard, the parallel key geometry can be defined. Also the different kinds of types (round- or straight ends, etc.) shape A to J are selectable.
The user will be optimally supported by calculation functions for the operation nominal torque, the maximum load peak torque, the shaft diameter, the standard length or the supporting length.
In the result overview, the safeties of the operation load and at the maximum load for all three components, shaft, hub and parallel key, will be displayed already during the input. After the finished calculation, a calculation report can be generated for the documentation. This report includes the calculation method, the input values and detailed comprehensible results.
The calculation report is available in HTML and PDF format.
